What will I be learning while I am taking the pre-licensing course?

Each course is designed to teach you about your state’s laws as they relate to real estate licensing. You will be learning about ownership rights in real estate in the United States and how consumers finance real estate, including federal laws governing this category. You will also be learning about the brokerage business, including, but not limited to, the Fair Housing Laws of the land. Last but not least, you will learn the appraisal process.

It can be like learning an entirely new language, the language of real estate. There is a whole new vocabulary and new definitions that you may not have been familiar with before taking the course. It will be important to learn those new words and definitions as they will be covered on the final exam.

How do I keep track of the time I spend in my course?

Agent Real Estate Schools courses are pre-approved by the state. This means it’s approved for the necessary hours you are required to fulfill for your state. Simply put, you don’t need to worry about tracking your time as we do that for you.

In a few states, students are required to meet set times to complete sections or chapters within the course. If your state is one of those, you will receive that information with your course at the time of enrollment and a timer will be available at the bottom of your screen which will record your hours as you work through the course. Once you complete your coursework, you’ll receive credit for the assigned credit hours of the course.

If you are idle for some time, the system will log you out, and this stops the clock.

How long do I have to complete a licensing course?

From the time you complete your enrollment process, you have 12 months of access to the courses. There are exceptions to this policy when the state requires that you complete your courses and final exam within a specific time frame. Please see our State Licensing Requirements tab and choose your state to find out if your state has different rules regarding course completion deadlines.

How much time do I have to spend in a course?

Each individual state mandates the hours required for a course. These times are tracked automatically and reported to the state. Once you meet your state’s requirement, you will be eligible to sit for the course final and then the state license exam.

Note: If you are getting licensed in one of the states that requires you meet time requirements, you will not be able to take the course final and receive credit until you have spent the assigned amount of time in the course.
