Quizzes, Final Exams, and Retakes

A quiz or final exam can feel stressful, especially when you are not sure what happens next. Take a breath. Chapter quizzes, your course final exam, and the state licensing examination are different milestones, and each one moves you closer to your goal. Passing scores, retakes, waiting periods, time requirements, and proctoring rules can vary by state and course, so always begin with the instructions shown in your course and student portal.

If I fail a chapter quiz, can I review the course material and try again?

Yes. Most courses allow you to return to the course material, strengthen your understanding, and retake the chapter quiz. The required passing score and number of attempts depend on the rules for your specific course. If another attempt is not available, contact us before creating another account or purchasing the course again. We will help you identify the right next step.

How can I return directly to a quiz?

Open the course navigation or sidebar menu in your student portal. Use the chapter menu or drop-down list to find the quiz you want to retake, then select it directly. Some courses require you to review the related lesson before the quiz becomes available again, and the location or wording of the controls may vary by course platform.

How many attempts do I have to pass a chapter quiz?

Many courses allow multiple or unlimited quiz attempts, but the rule can vary by state, course, and provider. Use the attempt information shown inside your course. If you have used every available attempt, pause and contact student support. Include the course name, chapter or quiz title, the message shown on your screen, and a screenshot if possible.

Why can’t I access my course final exam?

The course final exam is the last step in your course. You may need to complete every required chapter, quiz, activity, project, affidavit, seat-time requirement, or waiting period before it becomes available. Check your course progress for anything incomplete and allow recently completed work time to update. If everything appears complete but the exam remains locked, contact us before repeating coursework.

Does my course final exam require a proctor?

Some states and courses require you to take the course final exam with a proctor. A proctor is an unaffiliated third party who monitors you while you take the exam. When proctoring is required, your course instructions will explain the permitted method and any scheduling, identification, room, device, or browser requirements. Check the current instructions for your state and course before scheduling a proctor.

What if I don’t receive a passing score on the course final exam?

It is never a good feeling to miss the passing score, but one unsuccessful attempt does not mean your journey is over. Depending on your state and course, you may receive another attempt, be required to wait or complete additional review, or need to repeat part or all of the course after the permitted attempts are exhausted. Use the attempt information shown in your course or contact us so we can help you confirm the rule for your enrollment.

Can I review the questions I missed before my next attempt?

We are required to protect the integrity of the final-exam process. Course providers may not be allowed to provide an answer key or give students access to completed exams. Your score report may provide general topic feedback without revealing protected exam content. Use that feedback to revisit the appropriate lessons and prepare for another permitted attempt with confidence.

Is the course final exam the same as the state licensing exam?

No. The course final exam is part of completing your required education. The state licensing exam is a separate examination administered under the licensing authority’s current rules. Passing your course final is an important milestone worth celebrating, but it does not guarantee that you will pass the state licensing exam or receive a license.

What information should I provide when I need help?

  • Your full name and the email address used for enrollment
  • Your state, license type, course name, and course provider
  • The quiz, lesson, or final-exam title
  • The exact message shown on your screen
  • Your device and browser
  • A screenshot that does not expose exam questions or answers
