Certificates of Completion and State Reporting

Your certificate of completion documents that you finished an eligible course. Where you retrieve it—and whether the course provider reports your completion—depends on the course, delivery format, state, and licensing authority.

Where do I find my certificate of completion?

For most courses, sign in to the student portal used for your enrollment and open your course dashboard or My Courses. After all completion requirements are satisfied, look for a certificate icon or completion-document link next to the course. You can download the certificate and save or print a copy for your records.

If your course was delivered through a co-branded or partner platform, use the portal identified in your enrollment confirmation. Portal names and menus can differ.

How do livestream and instructor-led students receive certificates?

After you complete the required attendance, coursework, and any applicable exam or verification steps, your completion must be recorded before the certificate becomes available. Check the student portal connected to your enrollment. Processing may not be immediate after the final class meeting.

How do I get a continuing education certificate?

Complete every requirement shown for the continuing education course, then sign in to the applicable student portal. Open My Courses or your course dashboard and download the available completion certificate. Keep a copy with your licensing records, even when electronic reporting is provided.

Are my course hours or completions reported to the state?

Reporting requirements vary by state, license type, course type, and provider. When electronic reporting is required and available, the responsible course provider reports completion according to the licensing authority’s rules. In other cases, you may need to retain or submit your certificate yourself.

Follow the instructions in your enrollment materials and student portal. Your state licensing authority’s current requirements control if they differ from older website content or general guidance.

Does my certificate of completion expire?

There is no single expiration period that applies to every state or course. A licensing authority may limit how long pre-licensing education, exam eligibility, or a completion certificate remains valid. Rules can also change. Before relying on an older certificate, confirm the current rule with the applicable state licensing authority and the provider that issued it.

What if my certificate is missing or the information is incorrect?

  1. Confirm that every course requirement shows as complete.
  2. Allow any stated processing period for attendance or completion verification.
  3. Check the correct portal for the provider named in your enrollment confirmation.
  4. Contact Student Support with your full name, course title, completion date, and the email address used to enroll.
