FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Getting your California real estate license is a simple, step-by-step process when you choose the right education provider. Here’s what you need to do:
1. Enroll in a DRE-approved real estate school.
Choose a reputable, state-approved education provider to ensure you’re taking the correct coursework required for your California Salesperson License.
2. Select the learning format that fits your style.
You can complete your pre-licensing education online or in a classroom. Pick the option that matches how you learn best to stay motivated and successful.
3. Complete the three required courses.
California requires three college-level real estate courses. You must pass each final exam with a 60% or higher to receive your Certificates of Completion.
4. Apply for and pass the California Real Estate Exam.
Once your courses are finished, you’ll submit your application to the Department of Real Estate (DRE) and schedule your state exam. You’ll need a 70% or better to pass.
With the proper guidance and a supportive school, earning your California real estate license is straightforward and achievable.
You can attend our Hybrid 2-Hour | 12-Week Program as many times as you’d like until you successfully pass your California real estate exam. We offer unlimited attendance so you can review the material, join additional sessions, and get the support you need at every stage of your preparation.
You can also participate in our 1-Day Power Prep Hybrid courses as often as you need. Many students choose to repeat the Power Prep class for extra confidence before taking the state exam.
At Agent Real Estate Schools, our goal is to ensure you feel fully prepared—no limits, no extra fees, just continued support until you pass.
Agent Real Estate Schools offers 1:1 appointments online and at all our training locations to guide you through completing and submitting your application. Because the Department of Real Estate (DRE) can take up to 8 weeks to process applications, we ensure everything is done correctly the first time.
During your appointment, we:
- Review your application for accuracy
- Make sure all required documents are complete
- Obtain the broker’s signature to help speed up processing and onboarding
- Prepare your packet for mailing to the DRE
Our goal is to help you avoid delays and get you licensed as quickly and smoothly as possible.
The 1-Day Power Prep is designed to give you the exam strategy you won’t get from pre-licensing coursework alone. While your courses teach you the required real estate concepts, the Power Prep focuses on how to pass the California state exam—a very different skill set.
During this course, you’ll learn:
- Proven test-taking techniques
- How to identify the correct answer—even when questions are tricky
- How to break down complex concepts quickly
- What topics are most likely to appear on the exam
You already understand the material from months of study. Power Prep helps you summarize, apply, and recall that information in a timed testing environment.
